Provisioning in the Abacos requires different expectations than shopping at home, but with planning you can keep your galley well stocked throughout your charter. Marsh Harbour serves as the provisioning hub for the region with the largest grocery stores in the Out Islands.

Maxwell's Supermarket and Abaco Groceries in Marsh Harbour are your best options for stocking up on essentials including canned goods, fresh produce, meats, and beverages. By small island standards these are large, well-stocked stores, though selection varies significantly from week to week.

Timing matters greatly when provisioning in the Abacos. Everything arrives by container ship, and delays are common, especially during peak winter season when demand is highest. Supply ships typically arrive twice weekly, with shelves best stocked by Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. If you arrive on a Sunday expecting full shelves, you may find empty aisles in certain sections.

For provisioning on the outer cays, Hope Town on Elbow Cay has two groceries: Vernon's and Harbour View. These carry basics but cannot match Marsh Harbour's selection. Note that Man-O-War Cay is a dry island, so the two well-supplied groceries there carry everything except alcohol.
